Sacred Monpa pushing tool, shaped by ancient hands
The Wooden Pushung is a sacred pushing tool rooted in the daily rituals of the Monpa people of Arunachal Pradesh. Used in preparing traditional food offerings during Buddhist ceremonies, this slender wooden instrument embodies the meditative discipline of Monpa craftsmanship. Its slim elongated form — shaped without machinery — reflects a cosmic philosophy: that even the simplest tool, when made with mindful hands, becomes a bridge between the earthly and the divine.
